The goal is to share only companies that are majority Black-owned.

I’ve tried to verify this, but I’m sure I’ll get some things wrong. I appreciate folks pulling my coat and helping the site grow. This effort is part of my belief that Black people must intentionally develop what DuBois called a “Nation within a Nation” strategy to keep their dollars within their community and grow their internal wealth. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Black households in the DMV area have a median household income of approximately $60,891 as of 2022. This results in a total spending power of roughly $10 billion annually.
